Farmhouse Monogram Wall Decor~ Create With Me

A farmhouse monogram is a simple DIY project that adds rustic charm to your decor.

Welcome back to another month of Create With Me! Last month, I used an embroidery hoop to make this cute and stylish DIY Embroidery Hoop Wreath.  You can see the full post, HERE.  This month you chose picture frames for our blogger team to create with.  The possibilities were endless, but I decided to show you just how I made this cute farmhouse monogram wall decoration for my home office.  I combined the look of barn wood, burlap, and paint to create a one-of-a-kind Monogram that makes a cute wall hanging.  Farmhouse style is abundant in this project and you will find it an extremely easy DIY project.

How to Make a Farmhouse Monogram Wall Decoration

To do this project, I gathered these supplies:

a wooden letter

craft paint

paint brush

burlap

cardboard

household stapler

staple gun

glue gun

Barn wood frame or frame without glass

  • First, I painted the letter D with craft paint.
  •
  • Next, I found a piece of random cardboard, cut it to size, wrapped it in burlap and stapled it with a household stapler.
  •
  • Hot glue the letter onto the center of the burlap.
  •
  • Take your empty frame and staple the cardboard to the frame.  For this stapling, a household stapler was not enough to get through to the wood, so a staple gun worked better.
  •
  • Here is the finished product. I love how it turned out! It's a beautiful addition to my chalkboard wall gallery in my office. You can see the full One Room Challenge Home Office reveal, HERE.

  6. […] Using the initial from our last name, I sought out a mix of monogram letters to add.  Wood, metal, and even burlap letters add a mix of different styles and textures.  I even made a rustic wood framed letter with a barn wood frame.  You can see the full tutorial for it here.  […]
