Use a collection of white pitchers to design a fresh, clean farmhouse mantel for summer.
Today I’m sharing my summer mantel! I hope you had a good weekend. We spent ours out on the soccer field. The rain held off and that made for a better weekend outdoors. If you recall, a lot of bloggers hopped in on our new series, Decorate Your Mantel, for our spring edition. Today we are hoping to inspire you to change-up your mantel once again to reflect the season of summer. For me, summer is a time to slow down, relax, unwind and enjoy the casualness of the warmer months. Whereas some people like to brighten up their decor, I like to neutralize mine even more. Instead, a peek outdoors is all the color I need! My gardens and landscape are full of the colorful blooms of the time. By keeping my decor, fresh and white, I feel the light and airiness of nature and it allows me to bring those colorful blooms indoors when I want to brighten my rooms.
How to Create a Summer Farmhouse Mantel
Sticking true to my modern farmhouse look, my neutral mantel and decor, blend seamlessly with the rest of my home. A new chalkboard which I will share this DIY project with you later in the week found a home on my mantel along with my staple item, a painted mirror. A line of white pitchers and a little greenery and I love the overall look.
Though I like antique pitchers, only two of this grouping are vintage. The other ones I purchased at TJ Maxx and HomeGoods. Mixing old and new is part of what I love about modern farmhouse style!
In front of the black fireplace screen, I placed an old window and a tobacco basket. Since we will not be using our fireplace in the summer, it adds a little character to the front.

Putting that window in front of the fire box was the best idea! I love that! You’re so right that you won’t be using the fireplace in the summer, so it makes sense to liven it up down there. Great touch.
