Vintage Collections: Take a Peek at My Silver Collection

Silver has graced tables for centuries and it can be an elegant choice even in today's busy lifestyle.

Today, I'm sharing another of my favorite collections with you, silver!  I have acquired quite an extensive collection over the years and I finally have it on display in my family room.  If you saw my post last week with my new coffee table from Wayfair (LINK), then you probably saw a sneak peek in the background of my recently purchased new bookcase (LINK). I am using this new piece as my display area for the many tea pots, trays, and small creamers and sugar bowls I have acquired.  It started with a tea set which I inherited from my grandmother and has grown from there.  If you aren't a silver collector, I just might convince you to become one today.  You see, silver is extremely versatile!  It is not only beautiful on display, but is also functional on your table or in your decor.  I use mine all the time.

Ways to Use Your Silver Collection In Your Home

There are so many ways to use silver in your home and decor.

  • As display pieces: A single set on a tray or an abundance grouped together take your every day decor up a notch. The elegance it adds will have you feeling Downton Abbey(ish) in no time. I even love those pieces that are patinaed over time, so put your silver polishing cloth away, no Mrs. Hughes needed!

  • Use it on your tables!  I use my serving trays often to contain my every day dishes or serving pieces on the table when hosting.
  • Use as flower containers: Silver acts as the perfect flower vessel.  I have used creamers to make mini succulent arrangements (LINK for project details).  Larger vessels are perfect for faux flowers or greenery.

I love the look of mismatched pieces and I'm not all that concerned about a few scratches here and there.  To me, they are all beautiful to use and enjoy!
