Updating a Small Space with Removable Wallpaper

We updated a couple of nooks in our entryway with removable wallpaper for a pop of color and pattern!

Our house is one long U-shaped ranch. The master bedroom was an addition made to the home probably in the 1980's. The way it was constructed basically added the whole side of the one wing as a master suite, complete with it's own entryway space that adjoins it to the rest of the house and has an entrance out to the pool. Within this small entry is two nooks. I've had these recessed spaces decorated in a few different ways since we moved in, but finally settled on using removable wallpaper to make them stand out!

I fell in love with wallpaper I purchased at Bed, Bath & Beyond from Roommates. It is called the Batik Jacobean (LINK). I have also seen this one online at Target (LINK), but it is currently sold out. It comes in several colors, but the rich navy was the one I decided upon.

If you've never used removable wallpaper before, it truly is easy to use.  I like it for small spaces to accent.  If you have a lot of cutting or pattern matching, it can get tedious, but for straight walls in small spaces, it's perfect! You can see how I used it in my coffee station (LINK), and my powder room (LINK).  The key to removable is that you can change your mind and without much effort remove it and move on to your next idea!

The two nooks are across from each other. One can be seen as you walk down the hallway from the rest of the house. In that space, I put a cane chair I got off of Facebook Marketplace, a table, lamp, and a couple of pieces of artwork I thrifted.

In the second area, I have my favorite dresser that I inherited from my grandparents. In that, I house all of our pool towels, lotions, sunglasses and pool supplies for easy access in and out to the pool. You can see this space from our long bedroom hallway.

I love that as I look down the hallways I get this pop of color and pattern. It really enhances this small space.

Amy- your house is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing how you used the removable wallpaper in those spaces. I’m thinking about trying it in a bathroom space behind the vanity/mirror area or in a closet area. Your ideas help so much and are very inspiring. Love your attention to detail!!
