New Look in the Kitchen Nook & Heading to the Beach

Hi friends!  It was so much fun helping co-host the fashion link up over at Michelle Paige's blog yesterday.  She has some serious style and I was thrilled to be a part of the fun.

Today I'm giving you a quick look at our new kitchen table nook.  I love this little space because it is just the right size for our family dinners and the view from the window of the backyard makes me happy.  I enjoy hanging out on the built in benches and watching the birds and drinking my coffee.  Ok, so that part doesn't happen all that often, but a girl can dream, right?  If you visited our spring home tour, you may have picked up on the new dining set, but I never officially gave you the dets.  The table and chairs that were there before weren't bad, but the glass table has always bugged the heck out of my “I need to Windex you 24 hours a day” self, so I decided it was time to make a change.

The old table and chairs found a new home as a game table in our basement and my new table and chairs arrived right before Easter.

You are seriously going to love these farmhouse inspired chairs.  I got them from Amazon.  I had seen higher priced options elsewhere, but after digging deeper, I found these and they were exactly what I wanted for much less. I will say they were an utter pain in the neck to put together, but “no pain, no gain” and I am happy with the end result.  I love the mix of weathered wood and metal.  I decided to go with a white pedestal table so there was more legroom and I like the mismatched look.  It freshens up the space and appeases my “I hate fingerprints on the glass” cleaning self.

Do you see the coffee pillow?  Yep, it's new also,  My new friend, Kendra Farmer, runs an Etsy shop that you just have to visit!  Her shop, So Vintage Chic , makes these one of a kind pillow covers.  I chose this inspiring coffee one to hopefully lure me over for leisurely coffee sips while watching those backyard birds.

Really, no joke, if you know me at all, you know I love coffee and have a dedicated coffee bar in my kitchen, so this cute cover was a must have.

Yep, run on over there and try your hardest to pick a pillow cover {you may end up with 3, no joke!}.  There are just so many cute ones.

I'm working hard on my ORC room because our family is heading out tomorrow for a family vacation.  Follow along on Instagram for pics of our Florida adventure and I'll post all about it when we return.

Have a great week!

I love this space–those pillows are darling. I am now heading off in search of the rack over your coffee station (I need one!), you did a lovely job on this room. Hope the beach was great! XO,

I love how the wood accents on your new chairs pick up the cool wooden pig sign you have on the wall. And I hear you about glass tables – we just replaced a glass coffee table and I couldn’t be happier to see it go. I was so tired of fingerprints and smudges and my dog’s wet nose marks all over it 😛

  8. Such a cozy kitchen nook! I love the built in. The coffee pillow is beautiful. The table seems to be the perfect size. Pinned!
