Winter weather creates a whole slew of issues, but it can be especially difficult when it comes to our wardrobes!
I hate looking and feeling like the marshmallow man everywhere I go! It’s definitely not a good look and I find myself getting overheated when I step inside and then freezing again when I step outside. It’s so hard to know what to wear since we go in and out of the weather all day. I have found for me that the key for my winter wardrobe is to layer, layer, layer!
Layering allows you to change your looks and remove and put on items depending on how you’re feeling and the temperature outside.
Today, I thought I’d show you the tricks to layering that have worked for me.
Here is how I put together a layered winter outfit.
Layer #1: Tank or Cami
Layer #2: Long sleeve t-shirt
Layer #3: Cardigan Sweater
Layer #4: Scarf
Coordinate all layers including even your coat. That way your scarf coordinates with your outer layer.
Creating layers allows you the flexibility to remove your coat, scarf, or even cardigan if need be.
Here’s how it might work for you when you are starting to feel uncomfortable and need a quick wardrobe change to accommodate the weather.
Option #1 is to keep the scarf and take off the sweater.
Option #2: take off the shirt and leave the cardigan and cami.
Option #3: take off the shirt and have just your cardigan, cami and scarf.
Option #4: cami, shirt, and sweater. Take off scarf.
Option #5: No Cardigan
Option #6: All of it!
