A pretty paper garland using die cut leaves. A beautiful farmhouse decor piece

You may remember from this post, that I recently received a Cricut Explore Air 2 machine. I have been really enjoying putting it to use creating all kinds of fun projects at home including this fun project which I am going to show you today. One of my first projects was making this decorated cake stand. I downloaded the image in the Cricut library. Another way to create a totally unique and customized piece is to build your image from scratch or to upload an image of your choice in the software. This provides you with endless opportunities to create.
How to Make a Farmhouse Paper Swag
Supplies Needed:
Paper- 2 or more colors of green (cardstock)
Hot Glue Gun
Leaf Collage from Cricut Design Space
Ribbon
Instructions:
1.Use your Cricut Explore Air 2, to die cut varying sizes of leaves in your chosen colors.
2. While still on the mat, I used my scoring tool to score a line for folding straight down the middle of each leaf.
3. Using the removal tool, remove each leave from the mat.
4. Fold on the scoring lines.

5. To make your swag, gather your supplies and begin by gluing sets of leaves together in 2’s or 3’s.
6. Next, cut your floral wire and wrap floral tape around the end to secure it.
7. Using your glued sets of leaves, attached them to the wire with floral tape. (This was the tricky part. Make sure to twist wrap your floral tape so it will adhere to itself.
8. Continue adding and wrapping until you have a full swag.
9. Create a loop on the end by twisting the end around itself to create a hook hanger.
10. Attach ribbon.

It took some time to get the hang of putting the leaves together, but oh how beautiful it is and I’m sure glad I didn’t give up on it.
Wouldn’t this be beautiful as a party decoration or even on chairs or wedding decor?
I think my swag added a nice little touch to my ladder, but the possibilities are endless, so I’m sure it will get moved around to a variety of different spots!
