Twinkly Jars & a Winter Wonderland Scene

When the leaves start to turn and the days and nights get cooler, it always makes me start thinking about twinkly lights, snow on the ground, and Christmas.

As much as I’ll regret the end of fall, winter will be upon us soon and with it comes the delight of the holidays! Family and friends gathering around, cozy fires, and excuses to stay indoors and enjoy a quieter time.

In years past, I have always felt rushed in my holiday decorating. Whether it’s due to a busy schedule or just that I’ve put it off, it always creeps up on me way too fast! I never feel quite ready. Despite moving and everything that comes along with that, I am starting to think about my holiday decor. Tagging onto my fall theme of neutral and serene colors, I’ve decided to continue the trend.

I stopped by Hobby Lobby this week and was thrilled to see all the holiday craft items were out! To get my seasonal decor started, I decided to create a little winter wonderland scene using mason jars and a wood log cabin.

How to Create a Twinkly Jar & Winter Wonderland Scene

  • My first step was to take a bottle brush tree and glue it to the lid of a mason jar.
  • Next, taking battery operated fairy lights, I positioned them in each of my jars.
  • Reattach your lid and you have the cutest little twinkly light jars.

These look great alone or grouped together in a winter scene.

  • For the log cabin, I started by painting the wooden house with acrylic craft paint. I opted for a green roof, white building, and brown chimney.
  • Once dry, I sprayed fake snow on the roof, porch, and sides to mimic a snowy scene.

Paired with my twinkly jars, it is the cutest little scene for a table or mantel!

I purchased all my supplies at Hobby Lobby. They have a huge selection of seasonal woodcraft items and mason jars for you to begin crafting your holiday decor! I’ve included a 40% off coupon this week for in-store or online use!

To life feeling like home!
