$100 Room Challenge: Entryway

Today is the first week in a new home decor challenge I am participating in called the $100 room challenge!

Hello! If you're new here, welcome to White Cottage Home & Living! I am so excited to be participating in the $100 Room Challenge, created by Erin from Lemon’s, Lavender, and Laundry. This challenge happens twice a year, January and September. A group of home decor bloggers are challenged to makeover a space in their home, using a budget of just $100. You can read more about it over on Erin's site (LINK). I've actually been wanting to participate in this challenge for year's but have never gotten my act together soon enough to get on board, but this time, I am ready!

So what space will I be making over for just $100?

My Entryway

Let's get a look at the before and then I'll share my exciting plans for this space!

As you can see, it's a small space with three doorways leading to other spaces.  I have tried many attempts at creating a functional and stylish space, but it feels disjointed and just not as welcoming as I want it to be.

GOALS

#1 Add more functional elements; hooks for guests to hang their coats, purses or a chair to take shoes on/ off.

#2 New rug to anchor the space

#3 Artwork and new decor

#4 Wall treatment of some kind to differentiate this space from the surrounding area.

I can't wait to get started on this space!  I will be posting updates once a week so, I hope you'll join me in following along!
